| By this time I had painted quite a few self portraits. I had also started a series of paintings of just my hands. I was keen to perhaps paint nude figure works, however I had no access to models, so again I turned to myself. I wanted to incorporate my hand into a portrait and I got this idea of putting my hand up to my ear as though listening. I recall having a lot of problems with the fore-shortening of the arm. |
